Driver's License in United Arab Emirates
To rent a car and drive in the United Arab Emirates the driver must present a valid driver's license which has been held for at least 1 or 2 years (according to different car rental company).
Customers with the following national driver's license can drive in the United Arab Emirates without an International Driving Permit (IDP): Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United States of America. Please note that customers from Greece, Japan, Korea and Turkey must present a valid translation of their licenses approved by the Council or Embassy.
