Did not get the car I had however got similar sized car. The car condition was not very good. Customer service was good no problems picking or dropping the car. Word of advise take as much pictures and video of the car before pick up.

4.3We were penalised for wanting the car we booked!

Tried to give us a smaller car than we had booked, after an already long wait. Then said they’d look for a bigger car - it took 45 mins to be confirmed they had one, then another 20 mins for it to be delivered. Got to the car park and there were lots of the vehicle type we had been allocated and we were given the oldest, most dilapidated car possible - high mileage, stained seats and interior, missing wing mirror cover, steering wheel was worn, poor fitting boot liner. It was a mess! We figured at least they wouldn’t notice any damage as there was no space left to damage! Wouldn’t book through them again.

5.3Worst experience with Easyrentcars to date.

Would not use again, Prepaid all costs upfront for a Skoda Estate or similar - they tried to give me a Suzuki Baleno. Then charged me additional Vat and Taxes plus a mandatory prepaid fuel service which I did not want.

6.3Rip off at pick up

Was forced to pay extra at pick up as they wouldn’t accept insurance paid for at booking. Said it wasn’t valid as it wasn’t their own insurance. (Actually didn’t pay and took the risk). Then wouldn’t accept my bank card so had to add my husband as a driver to use his card which cost more. None of this made clear at time of booking. Man was incredibly unhelpful.

7.3Booking process and checking in car all good. Car experience very disappointing

Counter staff were very pleasant and helpful. The cars body work was in poor condition (scratches,dents, body trim missing). The service indicator on the dashboard was on. The cars running performance was very poor it had a problem with it. We didn’t report this until we dropped car off at end of our stay, because we were only staying for a few days and didn’t want this to have any impact on the time we had on the island.

2I never got the car. Service was refused because the only credit card i have was american express.

It was explained to me that I cannot rent a car with American Express card because they are very easy to cancel payment, but then they start twisting my hands to pay full insurance on the same card. The amount of the insurance asked was 3 times more than the rental. Huge disappointment and 0 customer service.

Would be good to have staff wearing a t-shirt or shirt with the company logo on it. We were told to meet “a guy wearing a grey t-shirt” outside to collect the car. Also at busy times additional staff are needed when collecting/dropping off cars

6.7Uneasy customer relations.

The car had a number of minor scratches on the bodywork, hub caps and wheel rims (normal wear and tear, given the car's purpose!). The agent left me in no doubt that a scratch would cost hundreds of pounds. They had not made any effort that I could see to repair previous damage. He took detailed pictures of the car with his I-pad so I did the same with my phone. This made me reluctant to use the car as much as I had planned to, as the local driving and condition of the roads was poor. There were also a number of poor reviews online to back up my concerns. However, when I returned the car the agent took lots of photos, inside and out. I did the same. The car was given a clean bill of health and I was told my deposit would be returned in a few days. Although everything worked out fine, I was made to feel somewhat uneasy about dealing with the company.

2got scammed

I will never ever use GOLDCAR again. The car conditions were disgusting, filthy, dirty with a red light on the dashboard indicating that the car needed service. On arrival there was only one person serving about 10 customers.

4Don't rent to Goldcar or Rhodium at Malta airport

1. I paid for a DS3 or similar, they give me a 108, or the similar of a DS3 is a 208. 2. I had already an insurance with my credit card. But the renter didn't care and give me 2 solutions. First, did a deposit of 1100€ but i hadn't got this on my credit card, or second, paid 110€ and blocked 200€ on my credit card. So i was obliged to take the 2nd solution. I am very desappointed about this experience. I won't recommand this society

Car was supplied with a not quite full tank of fuel. Reception desk staff did not seem interested in helping as the staff who hand over cars appeared to be on a break. Peugot 3008 supplied was in good condition but not convinced this could be classified as a full size estate.

Q1.What is an insurance excess?

The excess is the amount you'll only be liable for in case of damage(under Collision Damage Waiver) or theft(under Theft Protection) of the vehicle.
Information about the excess will be clearly stated in the price inclusion when you reserve a car on EasyRentCars.

Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?

You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental.
Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.

Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?

However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available.

Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip. You will find a phone number on the rental agreement you signed at pickup.
