EasyRentCars work with car rental companies around the world in an endless effort to offer customers a wide selection of services that are used to help you in all sorts of situations. These include offering different car types/car groups, pick up and drop off locations, times and dates. As long as you get a quote on the EasyRentCars website and filter your requirements, you don’t need to worry about whether you can drop off your rental car very late night or early in the morning.
Select Your Dream Car
Every 24 hours is calculated as one full rental day and rentals of less than 24 hours will still be rounded up to one full day, which is how most rental companies operate. If you pick up a car on Monday at 9:00 am and return it on Wednesday at 2:00 pm, realistically your rental period would be 2 Days and 5 hours. But car rental companies would round up your rental period to 3 days, which is an industry standard.
EasyRentCars promises to connect renters with high-quality rental brands. We strive to provide you with a seamless and smooth car rental experience, promising you a competitive rate and comprehensive cover. Every car rental company we partner with has different classifications and rules about rental vehicles so we have narrowed them down into the following 10 categories based on a range of features, for your convenience. These categories are Small, Medium, Large, Premium, SUV, Pickup Truck, Van, Convertible, ECO and Model Guaranteed. You can find out more information about these categories located on the left panel of our listing page. You can even toggle onto them and set filters to help you find your perfect rental car.
Under each car type, you will see a list of sub-categories and images to help you narrow down your options. For example, Kia Rio, Toyota Yaris, and other similar cars fall into the Economy category, while Mazdas and Nissan Notes belong to the Compact group. You can also filter cars based on preferences such as size and you can view cars in categories such as Large. This is the category where you will find Premium SUV and other big spacious vehicles. Only supercars or exotic cars from certain car rental companies can be model guaranteed. Most car rental companies can only guarantee the type of car you will get, but not the make, color or model.
Insurance Coverage Plans
Most of the car rental deals you find on EasyRentCars come with a certain degree of insurance ranging from minimal to full coverage and we have classified them into following plans for your convenience. You can find them in the listing and check out pages after you conduct a car rental search online.
This plan only covers you for basic Third Party Liability Insurance, either with or without Theft Protection. It is our most basic insurance coverage.
This plan covers you for basic Third Party Liability Insurance and Collision Damage Waiver, either with or without Theft Protection. On top of that, a certain amount of excess is added onto the Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (if it’s been included).
This plan offers slightly more than your Basic Protection. It includes basic Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection and Personal Accident Insurance (either with or without Personal Effect Protection). Both the Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection have an excess of zero.
This coverage is one step above the Basic Protection plan and includes Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection. Your excess is also brought down to zero.
This plan is more comprehensive in comparison to the Basic Plus coverage. Full Plus gives you Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection and Personal Accident Insurance (with or without Personal Effect Protection). With the Full Plus coverage plan your excess is zero.
This plan offers you premium comprehensive protection with no excess. It covers you for basic Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Towing, and Roadside Assistance, Clean-up Fees and Mis-fuelling Charges if they’re applicable. You will also be covered for any damage to your rental cars windows, mirrors, chassis and tires. Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection can be included as extras but only to a pre-determined capped amount.
A Super Plan will give you the ultimate protection and peace of mind. Your coverage will include Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Windows/Mirrors/Chassis/Tyres coverage, Towing, and Roadside Assistance, Clean-up fee and Mis-fuelling charges. In addition to this, a Super Plan will also cover you for Loss of Leased Items and Pickup Delay Insurance, with an excess of zero.
Most car rental deals you will find on EasyRentCars have a Full to Full fuel policy, meaning that your fuel tank will always be full or mostly full upon pickup. When you return the car you will only need to replace the fuel that you use. Some car rental companies also offer something called Free Tank. This means that you receive a full tank when you pick up your rental car and you’re not expected to completely fill it up upon return. The Full to Empty policy might work best for you if you plan to drive a fair bit. This is where car rental companies deliver you your rental with a full tank and you can return the car with an almost empty tank if you like.
Rental Age & Driver’s License
Rental age requirements will vary depending on the car rental companies, travel locations, and car groups. In most cases, standard car rental rates apply to people between the ages of 25 and 65-years-old. If you are between 21 and 24 or older than 65, you’ll most likely be charged an underage/overage fee by your rental provider. Specific information regarding these additional fees is available in your Terms and Conditions which will generate during the booking process on EasyRentCars. Our 24/7 customer service representatives are always ready to help if you need further assistance so feel free to ask online, write them an email or give them a call.
Driver license requirements vary depending on your travel location and car rental providers. Majority of the time car rental companies expect drivers to have been on their full license for at least two years if they are renting a vehicle. Provisional licenses and copy or digital versions won’t be accepted for legal purposes.
International Driver’s Permit (IDP)
An IDP serves as a form of identification and proof that you are eligible to drive in the destination/s you are picking up and dropping off your rental car. And IDP will include your name, address and any applicable driving restrictions. Are you wondering whether or not you need an IDP if you are planning to travel and rent a car overseas? Our advice to you is: if your domestic driver’s license is printed in a non-roman alphabet, including Arabic, Cyrillic, or Chinese, then we highly encourage you to get an International Driving Permit. Treat this as additional verification, not as a substitution for your domestic driver’s license.
If you are from a non-EU country planning to rent a car to drive in the EU, an IDP is still recommended to avoid any issues.
We have created a list of the most visited destinations for international travelers in terms of rental age, driver’s license and IDP requirements. Rules vary depending on the car rental company and your pickup location so we have collected information for each of the following countries, which you can click on for additional information:
United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Portland, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Turkey, Austria, Portugal, Ireland, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Cyprus, Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Russia, Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Jamaica, Columbia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Aruba, Sri Lanka, India, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines.
Payment, Credit Card & Deposits
We have partnered with over 700 car rental companies and suppliers from around the world to give you the most competitive prices. Your EasyRentCar rate will always clearly state exactly what you are paying for and the services you will receive, as well as your payment method, insurance coverage, fuel policy and rental period.
EasyRentCars offers three types of payment options: Pay Now, Pay Partial, and Pay at Pick Up. Pay Now means you need to pay the total fee online. Pay Partial means you pay part of your rate online and the rest at pickup. Pay at Pickup means you pay at the rental company when you pick up your car.
These three types of payment options are subject to the deals EasyRentCars has with rental suppliers and partners, so we have no control over what your payment type is. This is why we encourage you to select your preferred payment type on the EasyRentCars website using our filters, so you know exactly what to expect when you choose a rental vehicle.
EasyRentCars accepts credit cards in the forms of Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express and Discover during your online booking. You don’t have to use the same card to pay for your deposit when you pick up your car. As long as your credit card is valid and you have sufficient funds on it, you can use a different card to pay your deposit.
For super car or luxury car rentals most companies require two valid credit cards for a deposit. For more information, read your Terms and Conditions during the booking process on EasyRentCars.
Most car rental companies ask for deposits at the time of pickup as a safety precaution in case you damage your vehicle during your rental period, or cover you in case you receive any traffic infringements to compensate the administrative costs of their own. To process this you will need to present a valid credit card in your name to your car rental company. Your card will need to have sufficient funds available in case it needs to be used.
The car group your rental falls into will impact the amount you are required to pay as a deposit. Your deposit for an economy car will be much less than the required deposit for a luxury vehicle. Usually, the deposit is blocked from your credit card and will be released one to two months after you have returned your rented vehicle.
Amendment & Cancellation
If you need to amend a booking on EasyRentCars:
How you proceed will depend on whether or not you have picked up your rental vehicle. Most car rental companies won’t allow you to amend a booking prior to pickup, so you will need to cancel your existing order and make a new one. You can read all about your rental companies Cancellation Policy on the checkout page as well as in your Terms and Conditions when you book online. EasyRentCars do not intervene with any cancellation policies and only communicate to you what our car rental partners offer.
If you want to change your itinerary including your drop off location, drop off time or date before your scheduled return, then you should contact your rental company in advance and ask them for an extension or booking alteration.
If you need to cancel a booking:
To cancel a booking you need to visit the ‘Manage Booking’ tab on the top right-hand corner of EasyRentCars website and follow the steps. Keep in mind that your cancellation is irreversible. If you have any issues feel free to contact EasyRentCars 24/7 customer service office for assistance, and one of our friendly representatives will be happy to assist you.
In most cases, rental companies will give you a full refund if you cancel your booking before pick up. But this is only the best case scenario. Some car rental suppliers offer free cancellations within a certain timeframe before your scheduled pickup. But if you cancel your booking after the policy ends some dealers may charge a cancellation fee or no refund at all. This is why we give a warning and advise about cancellations well and truly in advance.
If you don’t show up to pick up or drop off your vehicle at the scheduled time or date your car rental company won’t return your deposit or give you a refund. To avoid any inconvenience EasyRentCars suggests you read scenarios that are considered to be a ‘no-show’.
